FAQ
Hopefully we’ve answered all your questions here. If not, please email info@standon-calling.com
>What time does the festival open?
The gates to the festival site open at 5pm on Thursday 11th August and close at 10pm each night.
>How do I get there?
Please visit our location page
>I’ve got kids. Can they come?
Yes, under-12s get in for free and all people under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over 21.
> Can I get cash on site?
Yes, all the bars provide cashback.
>Can I bring my own alcohol onto the site?
We’re a party, not a police state, so we hate having to search people on their way in. But as an independent festival focused on putting on the best possible line-up we rely on the bars to help us fund the bands we book. That’s why we ask people not to bring excessive amounts of alcohol. The odd can’s fine, but this is not so cool. The bars are fairly priced and mix a pretty mean margarita, as well as offering more typical festival tipples.
>What time are the bars open until?
All-night long.
>I’m really dirty. Can I wash on site?
Yes. We have double the amount of showers as last year on site and more toilets than ever before. We also have our swimming pool open every day between 9am-6pm, but the other guests would probably prefer it if you used it to revive your self or to freshen up in, rather than to have a proper wash in.
>I like fires. Can I build one?
Unfortunately, for insurance reasons (we simply can’t afford it), we can’t allow any unofficial fires in the campsite or festival arena. We’ll have bonfires set up you can warm yourself at.
>It’s 2am, I’m hungry. Can I make an impromptu barbecue?
Unfortunately not. Again, for insurance reasons, we can’t allow BBQs anywhere on the campsite or in the festival arena. Buying food on site also helps us to meet the cost of the event.
>Do you sell day tickets?
We may make day tickets available closer to the event depending on availability. Please click here to buy tickets.
>I’ve lost my phone/wallet/keys/favourite festival hat/mind (delete as appropriate). What shall I do?
Speak to one of our friendly stewards and they will check with the office to see if it’s been handed in. Items will be kept for three months after the festival. Anything not claimed by then will be disposed of.
>I like dogs. Can I bring mine?
By all means. As long as it doesn’t bite, go crazy in crowds and you clean up after it. You can even enter it into the Dog Show.
>I hate walking. How far is it from the car park to the camp site?
Five minutes max.
>What size tent shall I bring?
Whatever you’re comfortable with. We welcome people of all shapes and sizes.
>Can I bring my camper van?
Yes. Please buy your camper van ticket here. There is a campervan area and your friends without vans can camp next to your van.
>I hate tents. Can I sleep somewhere else?
We have a range of Boutique Camping options. Find out more here.
>I’m an artist, trader, journalist or just want to volunteer. Who should I speak to?
You should find the right email address here.
>I like to wander around naked at festivals, how do you feel about that?
Theoretically we respect naturism. However, there are kids around and some people just don’t like to look at naked flesh, so…hang on George did you write this one? Okay, the answer’s definitely no and, yes, you will have to pay for a ticket this year.
>Okay, what shall I wear then?
Whatever you want. If you’re going to use the pool, we recommend swimwear. We also encourage people to dress up especially on the Saturday. Please click here for more info about our Gods & Monsters theme.
>What shall I bring?
Tricky one this. Definitely nothing you aren’t prepared to lose, so think carefully about bringing you iPhone, virginity or mother. Otherwise, you can check one of those interminably dull festival survival guides for suggestions or just pack whatever you fancy… as long as that doesn’t include a loaded gun, a rabid, half-starved Pitbull and that weird guy with the Fred West sideburns who lives downstairs that you suspect may have stolen the spare set of keys you lost that time.
