Late-night lock-ins

Pop-up party specialists The Dig are hosting two late-night locks-in in the Standon Calling cinema this summer. The Dig are so hip we have trouble keeping track of everything they’re up to, but we do have some idea of what they’re planning for the festival this year.

Friday night they’re hosting an illegal sleepover, where they’ll serve wine and screen an eclectic mix of alternative French cinema – that’s everything from classic film noir to vintage French erotica. Leave your inhibitions on the campsite and bring your sleeping bag along for a very special soiree. They have more debauchery in store for Saturday when they say they’ll be putting on a “night of bohemian deviance and wild revelry” with a vintage rock ‘n’ roll and 60s pop soundtrack.

Infamous in fashionable underground circles for parties that feature everything from rock ‘n’ roll readings and midnight beat-poets to herbal love laboratories and free pizza and German sausages, The Dig are now poised to unveil a creative showcase website. They’re keen to launch the site – which they say will feature “a unique array of news, reviews and opinion” –  at Standon Calling.

With that in mind they’re inviting pre-festival contributions and plan to take the winner to the festival with them. Just write a short review, comment or piece (150-500 words) about any area of creative news, interest or opinion and email it to dig@the-dig.co.uk, marking ‘I want to go to Standon Calling with The Dig’ in the subject line. The winner’s work will appear on www.the-dig.co.uk and they get to go to the whole festival with The Dig for free.
